Saved Hands Foundation a 501(c)3 nonprofit Career Development Corporation was founded by Ms. Pamela Wright in 1989 in Woodbridge, Virginia. Ms. Wright a native New Yorker, enrolled in a South Bronx Youth Outreach Program in the 1970's to learn entry level clerical skills. Through that valuable basic office training she obtained employment within the New York City Police Department where she remained for 10 years.
As technology evolved Ms. Wright continued her education and training in Information Systems Technology. Through years of administrative expertise she gained employment with the Department of Defense in a professional Executive capacity where she retired after 30 years of service.
The desire to "give back" is a constant motivation for Ms. Wright. Saved Hands Foundation is a direct result of her dedicated interaction with her community and commitment to do the will of God. In 1996 when the Welfare Reform Act was passed, Ms. Wright grasped the opportunity to assist parents on public assistance to learn a skill and become self-sufficient. She developed The Administrative Assistance Career Development Program in Washington, DC for mothers to gain employment or continue their education through a partnership with the University of the District of Columbia (UDC).
Saved Hands Foundation continues to offer Resume Writing Workshops; career counseling, interview preparedness; job placement, budget and financial planning and entrepreneurial development opportunities.
Just as the Youth Outreach Program provided Ms. Wright her first opportunity to become self-sufficient, she is dedicated to give others that same opportunity by providing these services free to all who qualify.
