REACHING OUT TO FAMILIES IN NEED!
Saved Hands Foundation is a 501(c)(3) “faith-based” non-profit institution dedicated to preparing individuals across the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia) with marketable office skills. Our main purpose for existing is to give back to the community in the way of support to disadvantaged families. The Saved Hands Foundation name originates from:
- 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 – “in that we urge others to lead a quiet life with the motivation to work with their own hands to embark on a change in their lives.”
- The impetus for our motivation is Matthew 25:40
- The Word of God kindles our spirit of giving back. We believe that if you give a person “Hope” and a little assistance, that Hope brings an increase of their “Faith” and promote a belief in themselves and in God.
Saved Hands Foundation is currently conducting a career development training course at one of the homeless shelters in the Washington metropolitan area. Our focus is “entry-level” business skill training. One of the course participants informed us that she would not be able to continue the training because her family had exhausted the time they could remain at the shelter. They would be forced to move out.
Once again, our Foundation demonstrated that we practice what we believe (Matthew 25:40). We extended our hand of love to this family that had exhausted all of their funds and did not have the minimal amount to move into transitional housing. Saved Hands Foundation provided them with the down payment of $500.00 to secure the housing they needed to move into a warm home.
This is what paying it forward is all about!
Your support will literally change lives!
The hallmark program of Saved Hands Foundation is a 8-12 week Administrative Assistant Career Development Program. The program consists of a structured learning environment that takes several unique approaches to train participants to pursue careers related to office management. Upon successful completion of the Program requirements, individuals will be highly proficient in software applications, communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
The ultimate goal of the Program is to feature classroom instruction in an office-like setting, where participants receive individualized hands-on training. This environment gives participants the “feel” of being employed, a key component in helping them transition into a professional workplace.
During the intensive 8-12 week Program, individuals are expected to attend classes four hours a day; five days a week (generally daytime classes). The curriculum is designed to allow participants to achieve the maximum skill training in a minimum amount of time. Many clients accepted into the Saved Hands Foundation Administrative Assistant Career Development Program are not charged to participate due to their inability to afford tuition at any level.
We are seeking to raise $30,000 each year to assist 40 individuals with entry level business skills that will impact their social and economic lives as they become an asset and a productive citizen in their community.
At this time, we are especially looking for donors, like yourself, to sponsor an individual who is interested in participating in the Administrative Assistant Career Development Program. Your tax-deductible donation of $1,000.00 will support the costs of the curriculum, computers and software, instructional services and space for one individual to complete the 8-12 week Program.
If you are not able to give at this level, please know a gift of any amount will help support participants in the Program. Your gift will leverage others by attracting additional supporters who also want to be part in the success of the individuals that are changing their lives with the help of Saved Hands Foundation.
Please make your check payable to Saved Hands Foundation. Our nonprofit tax ID will be on your receipt. The address to send your donation is:
